On Saturday we did something we have never done before as a community. We made a round trip of 280 miles to go and stand in a white-painted room in Uppingham, Rutland, and look. What we were looking at was not empty space but an exhibition of work by Martin Wenham at the Goldmark Gallery. Martin and his wife Chris have been friends of ours for more years than I care to remember. I love his work, and Mike Goldmark has done him proud. The video will tell you something about Martin and allow you to see why I consider him to be such a consummate artist of the letter-form, but you need to go and look at the actual work to understand more fully. The exhibition is first-class. See it if you can.
